Message from the president
Dynamic, devoted and truly committed, the GPM team has one objective: to serve its clients as they would their own family members.
The team’s efficiency and reliability comes from in-depth knowledge and many years of experience in group insurance as well as particularly useful related sectors such as pharmaceuticals, hospital, medical, human resources and group benefits management, as well as information technology.
Strong fundamental values define all of us and are part of GPM’s DNA. They can be viewed as a tree which personifies the genealogical sense of family and its roots. They are:
Family Unparalleled Service Integrity Pride Excellence
My innate business acumen first allowed me to put my entrepreneurial skills to use when I became a paper carrier at the age of 11. Far from letting myself be influenced by established rules, I quickly learned the importance of customer relationships, quality service, sales and cash flow. From then on, I focused my activities, studies and work in a way that I could take advantage of my business sense and strong visionary tendencies. Coupled with a compulsive need to please my clients, my efforts enabled me to take my place among those who succeed.
Today, GPM’s success speaks for itself. It is ranked 20th in Quebec and 203rd in Canada on the Profit 500 list of businesses with the fastest growth over 5 years. We defied conventional currents and chose innovation. Always keeping our clients’ interests in mind, we have built a business model which makes all the difference with managing group insurance plans and workplace health costs. Among others are partnership agreements with important players which became today’s Privilege Health Network, thereby increasing once again the service offering and the possibility of bigger savings.
Always thinking of our clients, I continue to look for ways to make a difference in all the projects I take on. I do this by focusing on what’s essential and by considering easy and effective solutions which deliver expected results.
I recently founded a non-profit organization, Family at the Forefront, whose mission is to offer personalized support to families of those with serious illnesses by giving them the opportunity to create and enjoy memorable family moments. Find out more at www.familyattheforefront.ca
Of course, in order to do all this I had to enlist the services of exceptional people who could complete my work. Knowing how to identify talented people, I found leaders in their own field and inspired them to join me in a most stimulating adventure. Among them are the members of the Executive team who support me directly:
Senior Vice president
With over 30 years of experience in the fields of business and health, Mario joined the GPM team in 2010 as partner/associate. Mario’s responsibilities include strategic development of sales and marketing of GPM services. Greatly involved in client services, he has contributed to GPM’s blazing growth.
After beginning his career in private medicine by collaborating in the launch of the Médisys Health Group in Quebec, Mario has worked as an executive in pharmaceuticals for close to 20 years for the multinational Bristol-Myers-Squibb Canada Inc. and its different subsidiaries such as Linson Pharma and Convatec Canada.
This unique path makes him an effective partner for our clients in their efforts to manage health care costs in the workplace.
Chief Financial Officer
During his long career in the corporate world, Jacques Plante has served as financial controller, chief financial officer and vice-president of finance for different private and public companies, in the retail and manufacturing sectors, in both Canadian and international markets. His experience and skills make a significant contribution to the financial activities of Groupe Premier Médical.
In addition to having a rich professional background, Mr. Plante is a Chartered Accountant (CPA-CA) and a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).
Vice President, Operations and Human Resources
Before joining GPM, Liette headed Human Resources, Pay and Benefits departments for 20 years in manufacturing companies with offices in Quebec and Ontario. She acquired a particular expertise in the development of exceptional managers in dynamic and rapidly growing environments.
Today, Liette uses her skills to manage GPM’s operations by integrating best practices for leadership and human resources management so that GPM can offer a stimulating work environment where everyone is in a constant quest for excellence.
